Driver Killed, Passenger Critically Injured in High-Speed Napa Crash

Napa County, CA – July 12, 2025
A 45-year-old man from Fairfield was killed and his 45-year-old female passenger was critically injured in a high-speed crash on Highway 12 Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The pair were driving a Nissan 350Z westbound at approximately 8:45 p.m. near Kirkland Ranch Road when the driver reportedly lost control on a curve. The car struck the center median, became airborne, and rolled several times before landing in an adjacent field. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in serious condition. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts. CHP officials indicated that alcohol may have been a contributing factor; all westbound lanes of the highway were closed temporarily but reopened later that night.
